Tribute bands come in all shapes and sizes from the crooners of the forties and fifties such as Dean Martin and Old Blue Eyes himself,Tie the Knot With a Tribute Band Articles Mr Frank Sinatra right up to present day pop performers such as Kylie Minogue, Robbie Williams and even the rocktastic Kings of Leon. Often overlooked by those looking for wedding singers or wedding bands for hire, tribute bands offer a break from the norm, playing something a little more niche than the wedding music bands tend to play.

Of course the Frank Sinatra tribute will play Sinatra classics and the Beatles and ABBA tribute bands will also perform songs from the Beatles or ABBA back catalogue, which may feel a little limited. However there are numerous tribute bands who perform the music of the era, such as a repertoire full of hits from the 1950's including Unchained Melody, Jackson, Teenager in Love and of course The Twist. Other tribute bands may focus on the 1960 'beat' bands such as The Kinks, The Who, The Rolling Stones, The Small Faces and of course The Beatles.

These days you'll find more 80's revival bands than you can count as believe it or not, the eighties is more fashionable now than it was in the eighties! Personally having grown up in the eighties I find this a little odd, but that doesn't mean there wasn't any great pop music in the eighties, just a lack of fashion sense. Being one of the most musically eclectic decades to date with acts emerging from the post punk fall out such as Echo and the Bunnymen, U2 and The Teardrop Explodes; the new romantics not only gave make up to men but also gave us Spandau Ballet, Duran Duran, Depeche Mode and The Human League. It also gave us successful bands as diverse as Iron Maiden, The Cure, Frankie goes to Hollywood, Adam and the Ants and of course Culture club fronted by the unforgettably effeminate Boy George. With so much choice it's no wonder there are so many 80's tribute bands for hire.

For lovers of soul and Motown than how about a Blue Brothers tribute act? Great music, great dance routines and something for everyone, including both country and western! Since the release of the iconic film in the early 80's the soundtrack has proved immensely popular, as have the two distinctive characters of Jake and Elwood Blues. Regardless of which tribute wedding singers or bands for hire you decide on, choosing a tribute band to perform at your wedding will be a welcome break from the 'standard' wedding music bands tend to perform.
