One disadvantage of this method is that if one doesn't have the discipline to prepare and stick to a set regimen progress may be very slow.

One can also learn to play songs on the guitar via Compact Discs (CDs). There are instructional CDs on the market that give lessons on how to play the guitar. These of course are cheaper than a real, live teacher and you will save on time and the cost of getting to and from class as well. Again you go at your desired pace and you can repeat sections without embarrassment and at no extra cost to you.

So as you can see learning to play songs on the guitar is not a difficult thing to do.
