a stripclub receipt fell out of your pocket somewhere and she knows that you went. It's time now to face up to your wife or girlfriend that yes, you are a stripclub-goer.
The truth is that it's not weird for guys to go. We just don't usually tell the women in our lives. Strip clubs are innocent; they're places for guys to blow off steam, relax, drink, act like male idiots and watch naked dancing ladies.
But your wife or girlfriend isn't going to see it that way. You got some explaining to do. The key to smoothing things over is to understand what she's thinking as you talk to her about it.
It's Not About Cheating
First of all, your girlfriend of wife has probably never been to a stripclub before. What do you think she imagines? She probably equates it in her mind with visiting a brothel. She might not understand that you can look but don't touch at a stripclub. It might help to explain to her how it all works, and the fact that it's just meant to be a guys' night out.
Here's a crazy idea that just might work - bring her along. For most guys, this isn't really an option. After all, how can you relax and have a good time when your girlfriend or wife is along. But think of it this way - it's not your night to have fun; it's all about showing her how harmless the whole thing is. In fact, usually women at strip clubs get lots of attention and end up having a good time.
If that's not a comfortable option, just explain to her that it's a place for guys to relax and have fun. It has nothing to do with cheating, and even if you did go there with sex in mind, no stripper would ever demean herself to dropping you her digits.
She's Jealous Because She Loves You
Another factor is most likely jealousy. No matter what, no woman wants to imagine her man looking at other women, especially women that are naked! She knows that you're not going there to cheat or pick up strippers, but she probably thinks that you're there comparing them to her.
It won't help to explain to her that this isn't the case. Her issue here isn't really the stripclub; it's her self-esteem. Instead of trying to convince her that strip clubs are okay, now's the time to employ all those tactics that tell her you love her. Get cuddly with her and tell her how beautiful she is and how much she means to you. She'll keep talking about those strippers and so on, but keep the focus on her and try to make her feel good about herself. When she feels alright about herself, she'll forget all about it.
The Feminist Approach
Finally, lots of women hate the stripclub because it's degrading to women. It's a place where women bare their bodies and demean themselves dancing for the hoots and hollers of men. They turn themselves into sex objects for money that gets dropped on the stage, and the lower they go, the bigger money they get. If this is what she says, just tell her that.... well, she's right basically. She's kind of got you there. Strip clubs do objectify women into degrading themselves for the cash of strange men.
Try the cuddling thing again. Maybe it would help to agree with her and tell her you never really thought of it before and you won't go again. Then, do a little better job of hiding your receipts next time.
