In these trying times,Decorating Atlanta Apartments on a Budget Articles it may be difficult to wrangle money to spend on decorating your place, but don’t worry.  Here are three easy tips to taking your new apartment from so-so to smashing.

My first tip is to work with what you’ve got.  The green movement is not only trendy, but budget-friendly and functional.  Did you inherit a hideous chair from your grandparents?  Recover that thing in a bright and bold print, or simply buy an inexpensive slipcover from IKEA.  As a society, we are definitely less inclined to throw away things.  If there is something in your home décor collection that you think is hopeless, check out some DIY blogs to get some inspiration.  Almost everything is salvageable and will save you a ton of cash!

Second, check out estate and yard sales, thrift stores and antique stores for fabulous finds on the cheap.  Atlanta is full of antique and thrift stores with lots of hidden treasures for your apartments. Details make a home and many people are trying to get rid of the excess in their lives and downsize.  This can lead to you finding amazing deals and one-of-a-kind pieces.  Again, try to see everything’s potential.  A quick paint job can do wonders!

Third, try out some handmade artwork on big, blank walls.  If you are desperate to cover some wall space, but are low on funds, it can be fun to paint a graphic on your wall (or ask your particularly creative friend to do it).  I painted a huge tree above my writing desk and it brought immediate interest to an otherwise-boring nook.  Make sure you check with your leasing office and make sure it’s alright to paint first!

Lastly, I would just like to remind you to be patient.  Just like anything else, decorating your new place will take time.  It is important that you hold out for just the right things and don’t fill your home with so-this-season stuff that you might not love later.

Now that you have the décor covered, the next step is finding your Atlanta apartment. PROMOVE is an online resource that helps you move to Atlanta, Georgia with ease.  Area experts are available to assist you with your transition.  From finding the perfect apartment, to signing the lease and receiving the keys, PROMOVE is there to make the process seamless.
