The present cost of daily energy use is on a constant rise, and we either lower the cost or lower/control the use. Since lowering the cost can involve changes more involved such as energy supplier change or alternative energy installation, we are going to focus on the simple changes that can be applied right now after reading and start saving on your energy bill. Below are 5 tips to control your energy use and start thinking green in everything we do.
Turn them off – Turning off our electronics can make a big difference, even if the product is in sleep mode. Keeping on top of this strategy can be made very easy through a power strip. 

Master the power strip – Make the power strip your new best friend. Controlling your electronics in one place is a great way to keep true in turning them off. Also, keep the power strip easily accessible. The more convenient the task, the more likely you’ll follow through with turning them off. 

Product intelligence – There are not many electronic products out there today that don’t have power saver options. Learn them and how to use them with your specific schedule and needs. A lot of these latest products are very smart when put in the right hands. Take the extra step and learn their different power modes. 

Light evolution – Higher performance energy saving light bulbs can be found everywhere now. From fluorescent to LED, their affordability and life span make them a great addition to your green energy strategy.

Small leaks sink big ships – Check your doors, windows, and any other way you can climb into your home; because if there’s a way in, cold or hot air will find it. The better insolated these openings, the better controlled your climate will be. If this aspect is overlooked, you will be sending lost energy literally out the window. 


You are not alone! Keep that in mind. It can make a great difference if you get everyone in your home and/or office involved as well. Do not be that person trying to turn everything off all on your own. If everyone knows the mission, it makes it all that much easier.
