In 1964, Hasbro was the first person to use action figures in a marketing strategy to promote their merchandise to the boys who would not play with redressable figures often referred to as action dolls.

This creates a sense of closeness to ones heroes and idols since one is able to bring their virtual representation in their places of work, residence or entertainment joints.Several companies are today producing numerous movie characters, sportsmen and women, musicians and even athletes character to mention but just a few. These characters are given highly detailed figures since most of them are solely intended as statuesque display items rather than toys or stuffed animals. There are lines of production that also specialize with child-oriented action figures. These produces all sorts of brands and varieties that are attractive to children who form the largest market share of these figures. Some also include support accessories that are effective to characters as interactive toys. These may include; hand weapons that can be fastened into the figures or remote controllers for powered ones.

Therefore, anybody irrespective of age can afford to have some action figures one prefers since the producers are catering for all age consumers.
