There are many reasons that people switch to artificial flower bouquets, be it for the fact that they last forever or that they are low maintenance. While these are both true, the fact is that there are still things that need to be done to keep the flowers in the beautiful state that they were in when you bought them. One of the biggest things that you will need to do is clean them, as with anything else in your home, it will get dirty. Knowing how to properly clean your artificial flower bouquets can help you keep from ruining them.

You should remember to dust the flowers on a regular basis. You can simply do this when you are doing all your other cleaning by using a feather duster. This can be done on either a weekly or bimonthly schedule, depending on how dusty your home gets. By dusting the flowers, you help to keep the dust from building up as bad on the flowers and help them to keep their beautiful appearance.

No matter how much you dust the artificial flower bouquets though, they will still need to be cleaned. This helps to get rid of the excess dirt and debris that build up on the flowers. There are two ways that they can be cleaned. One is to use a brown paper bag and salt. All you do is put the flowers inside, then you roll the bag up to keep everything secure and then shake it around to lift the residue off of the flowers.

Soap and water is the other way that you can clean your artificial flower bouquets. You should create a sink or bucket that has cool water and just a bit of soap. You then will just soak the flowers in there for a few minutes and then lightly rinse them off to get the soap off, as the soap will make the residue build up faster on the flower.  When the flowers are about half the way dry, you can go ahead and put them back into the vase or container that they were in. Keep in mind that using hot water can cause the flower to fall apart as it makes the glue separate.

Though the deep cleaning may seem like a lot of work for your artificial flower bouquets, the truth is that it only needs to be done every few months. On top of this you will notice that when you clean the artificial flower bouquets they will regain the luster that you did not even know was missing.
