Teens are moody, unpredictable, and typically seem to be depressed. Most parents would agree that many of the mood swings are due more to hormones bouncing around then really any one single life experience. Due to this it can make it truly tough to determine if your child is in trouble and quite a few parents only understand after they commit suicide or try to hurt or even kill someone else, that their son or daughter has been bullied by people on the web.

Teens are moody,Cyber Bullying: A Real Issue That Parents Need To Watch For Articles unpredictable, and typically seem to be depressed.

The internet world would seem almost make believe and since you don’t have to look a person in the face like you would in the “real” world many teenagers end up doing and saying things on the net that they would never have the nerve to do in person.  It's a sad state when children think that just because they are destroying another person’s reputation on the internet or making cruel statements in a blog or on a social media site that this is not as hurtful as doing it to someone’s face.

Take, for example, the recent case of the college student who was gay and had video taken of him engaging in activities intended to be private and then posted on the net by his roommate.  He in turn killed himself and charges are being brought upon those who were involved.  This is just one of the most recent cases in a long chain of cyber bullying incidents that have occurred over the last few years and keep in mind, the only ones you are actually hearing about are those with deadly results.  There are millions of other kids who do  not take such drastic measures but who are living trapped by the abuse that they come across online each day.

So your son or daughter might be a bully or they might be the victim, but either way the results for your child and your whole family can be devastating.  Let’s face it, none of us wants to believe either about our sons and daughters yet someone’s children are participating in these activities on both sides of the fence.  As a parent you can’t address what you do not see and that just means that you need to get online and come across a parental spyware program which permits you to follow after your son or daughter’s internet footprints and find out what they are saying, doing, and reading online.

Don’t simply turn your head to the idea of cyber bullying.  All parents have the capability to take action and monitor their kid’s net activity and really need to if we are going to address this growing problem.  The change starts with seeing what your children are up to on the web, the life you save my just be that of your own child or someone else’s, but with knowledge comes the power to make changes for the better.  Our kids need us and it's time to step up and address this problem.  One little program can make all the difference.
