Delivery for a Natural Vaginal Case

After the full term pregnancy period is over that is 38-40 weeks then the mother is ready to deliver the child. The mother gets contractions which means the labor is starting. When the labor contractions come in an interval of 5 minutes then the body of the mother is ready to push the child out. Most of the pregnant women who are healthy and have not many complications have natural vaginal child birth delivery. When there is normal childbirth it is divided into three stages of labor.

• The shortening and dilation of cervix
• Coming down and birth of the baby
• Birth of the placenta

Pregnant women especially the first time mothers have some kind of fear about the natural vaginal child birth delivery but one should know the detailed process to keep away any kind of fear and have a healthy and problem free child birth. Some mothers choose the natural child birth without even use of medicines but some factors need to be considered before choosing this. Women who are undergoing labor can have prolonged and intense pain and the severity of the pain vary in each woman so in case the woman is going to have the baby the natural way, she must know how to tackle this pain of labor effectively.

The three important stages of natural vaginal child birth delivery are-

• Dilation- The cervix is dilated. The actual labor happens when the cervix is dilating and the membrane rupture might happen at this stage. The complete dilation of the cervix happens when it is fully ready to allow the head of the baby to come out. For a full term baby it dilates about 10 cm.
• The second stage is when cervix is fully dilated and this stage ends when the baby is born. The pressure on the cervix increase and uterine contraction occurs and thus the fetus moves downwards and then it starts coming out of the vagina. At the end the baby completely comes out of the vagina.
• During the third stage of labor the umbilical cord is closed and placental expulsion happens. The umbilical cord is clamped and even if it is not clamped and cut it closes naturally at this stage. After the birth of the baby it takes at least 10-12 minutes for the placental expulsion.
