Facts that ruin the radio control helicopters batteries

One of the common complaints regarding radio control helicopters batteries is that Lipo short-lived, are unsafe or that they break easily.

The world of rc hobby involves many facts. Some radio control helicopters batteries can get easily damaged. Yet, this is linked to a few factors:

§  Aging: The polyps are not stable and lose their characteristics over time, although we do not use. It is assumed that "expire" after three years.

§  For use. When you download a lipo and reload, it is not like at first. So the lipos have a limited number of loads (about 350 according to the manufacturer).

§  For overhead. When charging lipos with no parameters specified by the manufacturer these are impaired. Currents or voltages annoy inadequate batteries and can make them burst.

§  The over discharge. Download lipos above certain intensity significantly shortens the life of these. Again you can have burst.

§  For temperature. If the polyps above a certain temperature, both in loading, unloading or storage, they get damaged. Again may burst.

When polyps are charged, its components are in a very reactive. Gradually, these radio control helicopters batteries are discharged, to deteriorate in the process.

Deep discharge

If given low voltage batteries fussing. Mobile phones or computers monitor the voltage and cuts off power when the situation is dangerous. We use the batteries "bareback" and we have no such protection.

What not to do

If you love your batteries you should avoid these points. By following the same numbering! There is nothing we can do with aging. But we can avoid buying batteries in places where they sell a few. Surely our battery is one year on the shelf, which has already spent 30% of its useful life. Nor buy bids for finalization of stock. They are often old batteries.

We cannot save on normal use (we bought it for that). But we can avoid "recycled" (uploads and downloads with the charger).
