Criticism from Family Members

It is not imperative that the name you like for your baby would be liked by your family members as well. It may incite criticism from others, even from those who you value a lot. The safest way to overcome from this situation is to turn a deaf ear to the negative comments and pay attention to only positive criticism.

Difference in Choices/of Opinion

It is not only your family members and close acquaintances that you may expect criticism; you may also include your spouse in this list. There may be difference of opinion between you and your partner while you are naming your child. A name which seems perfect to you, won’t be liked by your partner. To avoid this obstacle, it is better to decide the name of both the genders before your baby is born i.e., during pregnancy.

Family Legacy and Tradition

If in your family, name of your baby is a collective decision of your family members, it is possible that the final name will be selected as per your family traditions. This leads to limited options. For instance, if name of your child is Raghav Inder Pal, then the initials will be ‘R.I.P’ and surely you won’t like the abbreviated form of your child’s full name.
