At the time of labor, there are some chances of the baby contracting this infection. This infection is also known as thrush. This will manifest itself as white patches will be noticed in the baby’s mouth. However, this condition can be easily treated and is not at all serious.

A sample of vaginal discharge will be taken for checking the yeast and confirming the diagnosis. A vaginal suppository or an antifungal cream may be used provided that it is safe during pregnancy.
