M.O.M.

My ma once narrated to me that when she gave birth to me it was the most blessed, most memorable day of her whole life. I found it silly being aware of the fact that almost every minute we would call her to fix things for us, even as simplistic as obtaining an incremental blanket for were too lazy to gain it ourselves. Growing up watching my mommy handle numerous things concurrently had me reckoning of never desiring to become a mommy in the future. Who would desire to be a  after viewing your own mother acquire two shitty jobs at the same time and still gets time to take care of us children all the while being sleep and rest deprived? 
Lets simply make a step back and get a response to the question, What is a true mother made of?
What does it need to turn into a mommy? Are mothers really that fantastic for them to have their individual annual celebration? Questions such as the last mentioned are what kept bugging me because I didn't know the exact answer.
Comic as it may appear `coz in the end I became a mommy myself. Here are some of the excellent things I've discovered during motherhood.
I found out that the phrase "Its Okay, Mommys here" works like magic; That only one pretty face exists no matter what the circumstances are and mothers have it; Hearing the phrase "Mother Knows Best" either means "I told you so" or you have to get some sort of approval from your mom about a particular matter.
But more than that, I found out that being mother is not just being the source of subsistence but also comfort, not just a source of trust but loyalty, not just a source of friendship but unconditional love. Being a mother comes with a plethora of emotions all rolled into one that defies reason.
Because being a mother means giving life but not living it for your children, it means teaching them things but not learning it for them, letting them know whats right from wrong but not deciding it for them, it means giving them freedom but at the same time not be accountable for them. 
Supporting your children in every path they take even though its the least path you would like them to take. Because being a mother is to always be there even if it hurts. Once can never cease to be a mother.
Courage. The main trait one has to exhibit in order to be called a real mother is courage. And why are mothers so special  because they can take the place of all other people but then expect nothing in return. Being remembered on mother's day once a year is not enough for bringing us to their world and at the same time giving up their world for us.
I know this because I have a very wonderful mom. And now that I am one, the best part of my day is the fact I am important, I am valued, I am needed and I can love my children with unconditional love all my life and I will.
