The wonderful curious age of two in a child's life is great. The child at the age of two is a sponge. They are soaking up everything in their environments. The child's environments include home,Providing a Positive Environment for Toddlers Articles day care and other family members' homes they visit quite often. The curiosity of a child is a good thing if it is embraced and respected in these environments. If these places have unsafe things happening that are too much for a two year old child to comprehend then it could have a negative influence on the child.
If the child goes to a day care or caregiver for more than eight hours a day it has to be a place that is safe. There have been cases, especially at in-home day care centers, where the children are neglected throughout the day. The person keeping the child just does it for the money and not to make a difference in the life a child. The babysitter keeping toddler children should take an interest in the children by changing the environment into a child's setting. There should be an organized space in the person's home for children where they can learn and grow.  It should be kept clean and disinfected as well. The area should not have a television and a bunch of videos for the children to sit all day without using their imagination. The personality of the person keeping the child is important as well. The children should not be left with someone who does not encourage them to keep trying to learn. The care taker should not use profanity in front of the children or any other obscene behavior.
In the home environment the parents are responsible for the atmosphere. The children watch everything the parents do from the way they eat to how everyone treats each other. Treating each family member with love and respect in front of toddler-aged children is very important. Arguing in front them causes confusion and they will think that is how they are supposed to act all the time. When they go to public places the children will act out how things are at home because they do not know any better.
It is important for toddlers to live and go to positive places. It will help them get through toddler times a whole lot easier when the influences they observe is good. There will not be as many temper tantrums. There will still be some, but not as many because they think "I did not see my mom or dad act like that." The environment has to be consistently positive so it is not confusing to the children. Toddler time is a fun time in a child's life, and it is the time when their personality takes shape. That is why having a positive environment is so important.
