Start School Off On A Good Note!

Sorry to say, but summer is winding down and it will soon be time to get back into that school routine.  As a father of 3, I know this can be an interesting time of year.  While some kids are excited to get back and see friends and favorite teachers, others need a little coaxing.

Sorry to say, but summer is winding down and it will soon be time to get back into that school routine.  As a father of 3, I know this can be an interesting time of year.  While some kids are excited to get back and see friends and favorite teachers, others need a little coaxing.

Here are a few tips that can help get things going in the right direction…

The New Schedule

Don’t wait until the first day of school to get everyone back in a routine!  Ease your children into it early.  Start by waking up those late sleepers an hour earlier each day.

Hopefully you’ll get the lunch menu prior to the first day of school.  Make sure to pack a lunch the night before if you don’t like what’s on the menu.

As the homework starts to pile up, take your time and concentrate.  Remember, if you don’t know something, ask a parent or teacher.

The First Day
Start the day off right by wearing a favorite outfit, maybe a shirt you got on summer vacation.  That’s a great way to get a conversation started.

Often, teachers will give students a chance to share things about themselves with the rest of the class.  Maybe tell a story of your summer vacation, or something fun you did this summer.

Be the first one to say hi to old friends, and new kids you don’t know yet.  Before you know it, they’ll be friends too.

Remember, teachers know the first day of school can be a nervous time for students.  They are going to go out of their way to make everyone feel comfortable.

Things To Remember

Before that first day, remember to go to bed early and get a good night sleep.

Start with a healthy breakfast to give you the energy you’ll need to make it through this first day.

Keep in mind that the first week of school for any child is a hectic one.  Learning where all your classes are, meeting new friends and teachers and getting into the swing of new schedules.  But after that first weekComputer Technology Articles, it’s all uphill from there.
