There is no handbook for parenting but by taking a first aid course you can better prepare for emergencies that can occur in a house with children. Of course, this knowledge probably won't save you from the occasional trip to the emergency room but knowing when to go and when to wait and take them to regular physician will better help you to address the emergencies that arise.
