There's no real opportunity to think about the other person in detail. Instead, you'll mainly be thinking about whether it will be possible to find anything at all.

Since online orders take some time to arrive, you probably won't be able to benefit from Internet shopping at this point. What that means is that you'll have a limited selection of potential purchases available to you. It won't be easy to shop around and to see what alternatives might be available.

If you're concerned about how much money you'll be spending, then you'll also see the problems here. The main one will be that you'll have little opportunity to compare prices. What will you end up buying? To an extent, this will simply depend upon the local stores that you have available to you.

It's not impossible for you to find a really great gift in these circumstances, but the odds are stacked against you. In effect, your approach is making it much more likely that you'll make poor decisions. If you persist with such an approach, then you'll frequently make bad choices.
