Even though the Bible discourages debt,How to Find Legitimate Christian Debt Help Articles according to the statistics, American Christians get in debt as often as American non-Christians do. If you are a Christian who got yourself in debt, it is time to look for some Christian debt help.

Keep in mind that even though some professional debt organizations may claim they are Christians, it doesn’t necessarily mean that they are. There are plenty of scammers who pretend to be affiliated with certain religious organizations in order to gain more trust. Be very careful when looking for help and make sure to verify every organization and every offer you run into.

Many Christians are able to get out of debt without any professional help, but if you feel that you are struggling, don’t procrastinate and search for help. Look for non-profit Christian organizations which offer free help. Avoid organizations which charge you a lot of money even if they are claiming to be the best and 100% effective. The last thing you want when trying to get out of debt is getting deeper in it.

Before you even look for any professional help, you need to make a covenant with God. Often people pray to God only when there are no other options left. Pray about your financial health and wise decisions every day and make a promise to use every financial blessing to pay your debt off.

Many churches have financial advisors, life coaches, so talk to your pastor about your problem and they may be able to help you out.

[7] Pay all of them their dues, taxes to whom taxes are due, revenue to whom revenue is due, respect to whom respect is due, honor to whom honor is due.
[8] Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.
