Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)
As its name implies, the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant or FSEOG is used as an additional or supplemental grant for single parents. A student must already be awarded a Pell grant before they can apply for this outstanding program. This grant for single parents is used in combination with the Pell program.
The Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG)
This particular single parent grant is awarded to students who enrolled in college or university programs that considered to “rigorous” by the federal government. This program is designed to help student are working on more academically challenging courses than most ordinary secondary school tracks. This grant is only awarded as an addition to a single parent’s Pell Grant.
State & Institutional Single Parent Grants
Many state governments offer private or publicly funded single parent grants under various social services and educational agencies. Not to mention that colleges and universities have their own financial aid packages and single parent grants.
