In the present U.S. economic scenario,Ohio Insurance Carriers Helping to Lower Deductibles Articles saving money on Ohio health insurance is a huge benefit. What you may not know is that it is up to you if you would like to receive this deduction from your deductible. How often during a day do you think about your health? You think about the way you are eating and whether or not you have exercised that day. But how often do you think about your health relating to the price you pay for health insurance. Now, just by maintaining a healthy lifestyle you are paving a way for you and your family to save money. How is this possible? Two major Ohio health insurance companies are now “offering to reduce your major medical deductible if you meet certain conditions”. The two companies offering this privilege are UnitedHealthCare and Assurant. The way it works is that if you do not reach your deductible amount during the year, the company will deduct a certain percentage from your deductible for the coming year. Each company’s’ layout is slightly different from the next. UnitedHealth Care will reduce your deductible by 20% each year until your deductible is 50% less than your starting deductible. Assurant’s is based on “One Decreasing Deductible” of a 10% deduction. You can receive this 10% deduction on the first day of January and July. It could end up reducing your deductible up to 50% or 70% over time. The one important thing to note with Assurant’s plan is that you can only receive this discounted rate if you have a policy “with 100% coinsurance”.Health Insurance in Ohio has always been regulated by how healthy a lifestyle you lead. But now ,even more than ever, you are able to save a lot of money. It is a ripple effect. You take care of your body and can therefore prevent major medical expenses. At the same time, you will be visiting the doctor less and making less hospital visits. By doing this, you are showing the insurance company that you are taking care of yourself and your family is making the same effort. This could save you anywhere from $1500 an individual to $3000 a family just through the deduction from the Ohio health insurance company. By living a healthy lifestyle you will feel great and be also reducing medications and unnecessary trips to the doctors. Live a better quality life and spend less!
