Garden Building on Water

If you work on land you should relax on water - this saying might lead to a surprising conclusions and gives a tip how to arrange the garden. Maybe it is worth to create a small garden building on water?

Having a place like this on the pond can bring us a lot of pleasure and happy moments in the garden. Especially on hot days when we are trying to cool ourselves with almost no result. But not only this practical issue of building on the water matters. Structure like this might also have a huge impact on our garden design. It can even change the landscape in whole and give it a bit more romantic character.

If we have pond in our garden we should figure it out, how to fasten small wooden house on the surface like this. We can do this on two ways. First by putting wooden joists in the pond and then installing the house on them. Second way is to put some kind of containers into water and use them as a support. Which solution would be better? Both may involve a bit of work. Although second choice is more innovative and may be a lot cheaper and simpler. How to make this plan happen? We should design or buy a really small building. Our support should made of light material like plastic barrels (metal ones rust faster). Barrels should be filled with material that would give the whole construction a good lift.

To support wooden building better we can put boards of expanded polystyrene underneath the floor of it. It will make a real difference in strength of the construction, protect it better from water, give fish in the pond a chance to survive in winter - water under the wooden gazebo like this won't freeze so fast. We shouldn't also forget about a path that leads to the building. On this purpose we should build footbridgeBusiness Management Articles, if needed a 3 metres long. To make it more stable against the wind we should put lines of ropes on two sites of the board and secure them to the ground. This will prevent the construction to flow on the wind and being damaged.
