Year after year when the weather is getting better we are willing
to make a garden party as often as it is possible. That's why it is
worth to know how to behave and meet friends and family properly,
elegant and with good manners, to make them feel good in our garden.
Invitations
The way we are inviting people for a garden party is our individual
choice but it also depends how formal this meeting will be. If this
small event is connected with something big like in example anniversary,
birthday of senior of family or inviting our boss we can even make a
paper invitations. If the meeting is less formal an we are inviting our
friends we can do it by phone or even email.
Service
Due to the place of the party we shouldn't use our best service -
our heritage from grand grandfather. But it doesn't also mean that we
should serve food on paper plates. Making garden party near our house or
our gazebo, summerhouse we should prepare service as we would make the
party in our house - regular plates, forks, knives and glasses.
Different situation would be when having a picnic - plastic items should
do.
Menu
When preparing a menu we should think about all the guests and their
tastes. No everyone eat meat or the only one kind of meat. That is why
we should prepared salads, grilled or fresh vegetables, fruits, fish,
let's make it tasty and variable to give a chance for full meal for
everyone. The same refers to liquids - not only alcohols but sodas,
juices tea in a thermos.
Being a guest
When going on the garden party (not organizing it) we also have our
dues. Flowers or the bottle of wine for the lady is always in good
taste. If the garden party is being organized because of birthday we
shouldn't forget about a present. Of course we should talk with hosts
are there any courses that we should take with us or their parts.
Clothes
As it comes to our outfit we should behave the same as with
invitations. When the meeting is more formal we should dress formal, if
not let make it comfortable. We should also be prepared for a bad
weather and be prepared that our high heels may hide in the grass.
