chance for a lazy guy like me to lose weight? When I say “lazy”, what I mean is
avoiding too much effort on exercise and dieting and still wants to achieve a
goal, including weight loss. SIT, LIE and EAT, sound very familiar and
enticing? If yes then you are one of us. Let us take a look how these 3 words
can have good effects on our weight loss plan.
SIT
Sitting is
very much relaxing and not so hard to do for lazy people like us. But how will
this contribute to our weight loss plan? Our mind is powerful; our body follows
what our minds are saying. Our weight loss plan will not take effect
if our mind is not at ease. Our thoughts come and go in cycles. There are times
that we are doing and feeling good about ourselves, and suddenly because of
outside influences, discouragements start to overcome us that we are almost
ready to give up. Let us think of positive thoughts and fill our minds with
motivation to help us stick to our plan. By doing this, it will help us gain
confidence in ourselves and in our ability to lose weight and we can feel a shift
happening within us.
SLEEP
Who doesn’t
love sleeping? Weight loss is likely to be achieved
when we have enough sleep. Our body has its own system of keeping us healthy
and having sufficient sleep maintains those systems. Lack of sleep makes us
feel hungry even if we are full. Insufficient sleep has been shown to affect
the secretion of cortisol, a hormone that regulates appetite. Experts say that
we should have at least 8 hours of good sleep every day. If you can't sleep,
don't stay in bed fretting. Involve yourself in a relaxing activity until you
feel sleepy.
EAT
Of course,
eating is our favorite activity! And what we eat affects our weight. However,
for our weight loss plan to take effect, we must eat healthy and nutritious
food. Instead of our favorite burger and cola, fresh fruits (like apple) and
fruit juice (like coconut juice) as our snacks would be better. Apart from
being low in fat, these have high nutrition value. Fish, shrimp and other sea
food are best sources of protein; a nutrient that helps in building muscles
that replace flab. Stay away from fats and oil by serving it steamed, boiled or
grilled.
Who says that
that for a weight loss plan to be effective it needs
so much effort when all you have to do is SIT, SLEEP and EAT? Losing weight is
not as hard as some people think. It is still achievable and at the same time
fun and relaxing.
