Recent studies have shown that simply tracking what you eat can help you live a healthier life. (go ahead,A food journal and weight loss tool for the busy! Articles google it!) However, maintaining a journal can be monotonous and time consuming. Who can remember lunch and snacks at the end of a busy day?

You know how it is, you get all gung-ho about getting on your latest diet and then a few weeks later it’s over. It simply becomes difficult to maintain that healthy lifestyle. In this busy world there simply isn’t enough time to worry about tracking what you eat. Not to mention that people are often on the go and don't have the best options for healthy eating. They go have fast food for lunch and by dinner they have forgotten they already had a big juicy burger today.

There are a number of tools out there to help solve these problems. That’s an understatement, there are thousands of tools that attempt to solve these problems. However, most of them require you to remember what you eat and fill it out later. This leads to incorrect entries and general laziness about doing it at all. In addition, many of them are difficult to use. The better ones tend to come with excessive monthly fees.

For the busy this is not an optimal solution. We need something that can be used on the fly! Thankfully there are a number of applications coming for the iPhone that make it possible to track your nutrition on the go! Below is a link to iScale from All of Zero. Native iPhone and iPod Touch applications don't (necessarily) need internet access to work. They will be available whether you have connectivity or not. This makes them the perfect companion on a device you need/want to carry anyway.

This tool includes an FDA Food database to lookup nutrition values of foods without labels. Who knows the value of an apple or celery? It also includes simple shopping capabilities. As foods are used they can be added to the shopping list. Later, in the store, the complete list is right there on the phone.

Accountability is the key to maintaining health. There is no excuse not to record every tiny little thing you eat during the day using this kind of software. Cell phones (particularly iPhones) are practically a new limb. All the tools you need to be healthy will be on the device that’s probably already in your hand before and after meals. It couldn’t be easier or more efficient.

We all know being healthy is not easy in our society. There is no secret “lose weight instantly” tool or drug that does it for you. It is a difficult undertaking. One that takes constant monitoring and focus to accomplish. This tool and others like it aim to make that particular task much easier.

All of Zero is an iPhone developer designing and building both their own applications and others. They take ideas and bring it to market in a practical and efficient form.
