If your youngest child is 12 and you are still using the words baby belly,Abdominoplasty - A Big Word for a Tummy Tuck Articles then you are one of two people. You are either using it as an excuse, or you have no other reason for the excess skin, loose muscle and fat in your abdominal area that sticks around despite diet and exercise. You do not need to use that baby belly excuse any longer. It may be time for you to look into having a tummy tuck. The scientific name for a tummy tuck is an abdominoplasty. It sounds scary, and it is surgery, but it could change the way you feel about your body.
Maybe holding on to that baby belly has made you feel maternal, and maybe you felt like having it there was keeping your little girl from growing up. Maybe you see now that she is growing up whether you like it or not, and it is time for you to do the same. If you have not been exercising, then by all means get started. If you have been, but that belly just kind of sits there and maybe jiggles a little too much when you exercise, you might have no other choice then to get an abdominoplasty.
What an abdominoplasty does is it removes the excess fat, tightens up loose muscles, and pulls the skin tight. If most of your belly fat is in the lower belly, then you can possibly get by with a mini tummy tuck.
This may sound simple enough, but it is a surgery and should be taken seriously. If you think you might want another baby, then you should not consider having a tummy tuck because it would not make sense to have everything get stretched out after having surgery to tighten it. If your skin elasticity is good then you could possibly have liposuction and still have a baby after and save the tummy tuck for after your last child. The doctor you choose will likely want to check into your health and medication history to make sure there is nothing that would be detrimental if you had this surgery.
Your choice of a surgeon is very important. You definitely will want someone who is competent in their field and is well-known for their ability. Many times a doctor’s reputation may speak for itself, but if you have not heard of a particular doctor, then you may want to do some research by looking for reviews online.
It is also important that a doctor be professional.  They obviously will have the title doctor which gives them credibility, but you want to look at their professional attitude in how they dress, advertise, and especially in how they deal with you as a prospective patient. You will want to meet with each prospective surgeon to make sure that they are a good listener, they spend time finding out about your concerns, and they are ready to answer any questions you may have about themselves or the procedure.
