A great option for getting ready for your high school reunion is to have an aesthetic plastic surgery called liposuction. It's not a replacement for a good diet or exercise program, but its benefits are both physical and mental.

So you've been out of high school awhile - living your life,Aesthetic Plastic Surgery - Getting Ready for Your High School Reunion Articles raising your family and working at your career. But now, when that reunion invitation shows up in your mailbox, you panic! You know your outward appearance needs help, and you also wonder how the most popular girl in school looks now.

A lot of people have phobias about attending their high school reunions. One of the major reasons for this is that they don't want any of their former academic friends to see how they've aged. But there is an answer. Aesthetic plastic surgery may be just the ticket you need to get you into the door of your high school reunion.

The origin of the word plastic comes from the Latin word, plasticus, which means molding and from the Greek, plastikos, to mold or form. It includes both aesthetic and reconstructive surgery specialties.

One of these specialty aesthetic plastic surgeries is called liposuction, lipoplasty or simply, lipo. It's basically the removal of fat deposits spread throughout the body by "sucking" the fat cells through a hollow instrument called a "cannula". It works on the same premise of a vacuum cleaner. The vacuum sucks up dirt, the cannula sucks out fat cells. According to some medical statistics, it's "the most common aesthetic plastic surgery in America and the United Kingdom."

Minimal surface scar tissue is another great feature of liposuction. Unless you plan to spend some of your reunion weekend floating on a pool raft, no one will ever know you even had it done.

The best candidate for this type of aesthetic plastic surgery should be over 18 years of age and in good overall health, have an established diet and exercise program and, of course, have some fat deposits to be removed already taking up too much residence in your body. Some diseases, such as diabetes, heart or circulation problems may decrease your chances of having the surgery but a plastic surgeon will determine this after much testing.

Some people think that once those fat cells are sucked out of their body, they will never return, but it's been proven this isn't the case. Your remaining fat cells will once again overflow if you overeat and new fat cells can be produced. Even if you have liposuction to improve your appearance, it must be noted the results of the surgery do not last indefinitely. Our bodies are constantly changing as we age, so it's a good move to incorporate a nutritious diet and a doable exercise regime which will increase your chances of getting more from your aesthetic plastic surgery known as liposuction.

But the aesthetic benefits of liposuction, if done correctly and a good diet and exercise program are adhered to afterwards, can far outweigh the risk of increasing your fat cells once again. If you opt for the reshaping of your figure or physique, an added benefit is mental. You will look at yourself differently and others will too.
