If you’re considering having breast augmentation surgery,Are You A Good Candidate for Breast Augmentation? Articles but your not sure if you’re a good candidate or not, there are a few guidelines you can take into consideration to help guide you.

The most important question your plastic surgeon will ask during your initial consultation is why you are interested in enhancing the size of your breast. Women, who undertake this process to please a partner or to attract a partner, are usually not happy with their results. The decision to have your breast enlarged should be something you are undertaking for your own needs, and not to please someone else or to attract a mate. When breast augmentation is done for the right reasons, women are usually happy that they have had it done.

A caveat – according to many plastic surgeons, generally the women who decide to have their breasts enlarged to please someone else are also the ones who have the implants removed within five years, when the relationship sizzles out.

There are no right reasons or wrong reasons to feel you want your breast to be bigger. Some women are simply frustrated and tired of being a cup size to small to fit into a bra properly or are tired of their clothes hanging straight without much cleavage. Other reasons include having breasts that are not symmetrical, which is actually quite common and breast implants are a way to make both sides equal.

Other reasons many women opt for breast enlargement include professional aspirations such as the dream to become a model or actress through a curvier look. The most typical reason is to counter attack the effects of age and gravity and bring things back up to where they should be.

The next question your surgeon will poise is how big are you planning to go? Many women who are small breasted make the mistake of going too big to over compensate. It’s kind of like your eyes being to big for your plate, as your grandma would say. Going overly large may be tempting but chances are you won’t be happy with the new results. Generally if you are a small breasted woman and your breasts match your body frame you can go up a cup size or two and look natural, but beyond that your implants will clearly scream to the world-“implants!” so unless you want to look fake, don’t super size them.

Your doctor can give you falsies to wear to try out your new size and you may find that going smaller than you originally planned gives you the cleavage and curves you desire without making you conspicuous of your new figure.

Finally your doctor will want to know if you want saline or silicone implants and since there are so many pros and cons to both you will need to do some research in addition to talking to your doctor to make sure you make the choice that is right for your breast size, body frame and overall goals.

If you undergo breast augmentation surgery for the right reasons and with realistic goals, you should be happy you undertook the process in the end.
