There are other reasons,Breast Augmentation and How Size Does Matter Articles of course—symmetry, correcting a mastectomy, and so on—but it is the primary and most popular reason. Having said that, many women find it difficult to determine just how large they want to go with a breast augmentation procedure. Few women relish the thought of having an expensive surgery and then being dissatisfied with the outcome. Some fear going too big, while others figure it would be a waste of time and money to have a result that is too small or subtle. It's an important consideration and one that every woman must face if she is to join the ranks of the implanted.

One of the most common ways for a woman to determine her desired size is through photographs of either friends or celebrities and models. This is a decent starting point, but it can also lead to some delusions. You have to judge your body next to others who share a similar figure. The breast augmentation that looked good on Demi Moore may not look as good on your frame. Still, if you are using them as a scale comparison, it can give your surgeon an idea of what you want to look like following the surgery. And it is a better way to go about it than simply sitting down in a consultation and requesting a specific bra size or a certain amount of cc's, which is almost certainly going to lead to disaster.

There are a number of things to consider that can lead to you making the right choice when it comes to the size of your implants. One, you should determine whether you want a more realistic, natural look, or a somewhat "fake" look. It may surprise you if you aren't thinking that way, but many women like the thought of going "too big." They want their breasts to be their centerpiece and they don't care a whit if everyone knows they have implants. On the other hand, some women simply want to look better in a bikini and aren't interested in having guys stare at their chests everywhere they go. It's a matter of opinion, but it is ultimately up to you.

If possible, find a doctor who has imaging equipment and software he can use to show you how different sized implants will specifically look on your body. While not perfect, it can give you a much better idea of what you want to look like and save you from some regrets after the procedure.
