As every woman knows,Breast Augmentation and Professional Bra Articles shopping for a bra isn't always a pleasant experience. So instead of letting the frustration build up, head over to a department store or specialty store and request a professional bra fitting.

Chose The Right Store

While prices may be higher in a specialty store chances are that you are going to get what you pay for. After the breast augmentation you may not have a drawer full of bras at home. Instead there will be just a few that fit well and will last you for an extended amount of time. Depending on the store and the brand you may be looking at items from $60 all the way up to over $100. While this may seem a little steep, remember that if you take care of these items, hand-wash them, and treat the with care, they are going to last you for several months to a year.

Band Size

There are two numbers that are important when it comes to choosing the right bra. You need to know the band size (the area around your chest) and the cup size. Most of the time a breast augmentation will effect cup size only, but it can't hurt to have the band size rechecked as well. The professional will come in with a tape measure and wrap it around you, right underneath your breasts and all the way around you. Most of the time after getting a figure, you can add about 2-3 inches for a little wiggle room. One of the most common mistakes women tend to make is purchasing an item with a larger band size than they need. In that case you loose all of that support and the straps are having to work overtime to keep everything in the right place.

Cup Size

This is the figure that is going to do most of the changing after a breast augmentation. Again the tape measure comes out. You are still being measured all the way around, but you are going to go over the top at the fullest part instead of underneath. Typically the professional with consult a chart and let you know which cup size she recommends.

Unfortunately bra sizing is nowhere near an exact science. Because of this, you never want to rely solely on the figures that you were given. Consider these a starting point to search for new bras after a breast augmentation. It should give you some idea of what part of the store you should be shopping in. Try each bra on before making a purchase and remember that there is some variation between styles as well as brands. A racer-back that closes at the front is not going to fit the same way as an item with traditional straps that attaches near the middle of your back.
