Among younger women,Breast Augmentation: Some Little Known Facts Articles there are few plastic surgery procedures as popular as the breast augmentation. Let’s face it: a woman’s chest plays a major role in determining the overall shape and attractiveness of her physique. Whether this is fair enough plays no role in the current discussion. It is what it is. Of course, bigger is not automatically better. What is usually more important is that the breasts are proportionate to the woman’s body. When they are too small, it creates an unflattering profile that can cause low self-esteem and poorly fitting clothing. Here are a few things you may not know about this surgery.

When most people think of breast augmentation, they think only of getting a bigger chest. But this is far from the procedures only purpose. Many times, implants are used to correct asymmetry. It may come as a surprise to learn that few women have perfectly symmetrical breasts. One is almost always larger than the other. Often, this difference is nearly imperceptible. In some cases, however, it is obvious. This is when surgery is a valid option and can improve on the situation. Using precise measurements, a surgeon can bring a perfect balance between the breasts, something that can make a big difference in how a woman feels about her body.

Another aspect of breast augmentation that is seldom talked about is the age factor. As stated above, younger women are often the target group for this procedure. However, this tends to discount the fact that more and more older women are going under the knife as well. In fact, though women in their 20s are often though of as the prime demographic, more women are getting the procedure in their 30s than any other age group. A number of things may play into this truth. For one, women in their 30s typically have more money and can more easily afford such a procedure. Second, women younger than that are often fairly pleased with their bodies. Youth and fitness play a big role in a physique. As age, pregnancy, and other factors begin to take their toll, women often look for ways in which they can improve on what they have.

If you asked a hundred people on the street where they thought most breast augmentation procedures were performed, 90 of them would probably say the United States. This is natural, given our national obsession with appearance and, well, breast. But it would not be accurate. China, in fact, has a higher rate of procedures than any other country in the world. So if such a question were to come up on a rousing game of Trivial Pursuit, you’ll now know the right answer. Of course, given advances and cost reductions, it may not be long before the U.S. takes that spot for itself.
