In most cases,Breast Enhancement Procedures That Insurance May Cover Articles breast enhancement is an elective procedure that you have to pay for out of pocket, as most insurance companies do not consider it necessary. However, you may be able to get it covered if you can prove that your health or self-image would greatly benefit. In most cases, just adding implants to increase your chest size will not qualify you for coverage under insurance. However, there are three ways that you may get this treatment for free, or at least for very little money.

The most common reason that your provider may pay for breast enhancement is if you had to get your original breasts removed due to cancer. Perhaps you had to get just a portion of one removed, or both entirely. Either way, you should not be forced to suffer from the feeling of not looking feminine enough just because you had a condition that threatened your life. You should be proud that you fought the illness, and seek to get back what you once had through breast enhancement. This is usually referred to as reconstruction surgery since it involves working with what you currently have until you get the result that you want. In most cases, you will have fat removed from your abdomen and relocated to your chest to get the breasts you had before, or perhaps even better, and your provider will likely pay for the procedure.

Sometimes cancer is not the only issue that can result in your losing your breasts. Though this is a rare reason to need surgery on this area, a car accident or other unexpected incident may result in your chest being negatively affected. If you no longer have the chest you once did, you can get it reconstructed, usually on the dime of your provider as long as you can prove that the accident resulted in what you have now. You just need to talk to your doctor to find out how to prove the chain of events that led to your current issue.

Though breast enhancement often refers to adding tissue to the chest, it can also involve reducing it. You can get reduction surgery paid for by your insurance company if you can show that you have back problems or shoulder pain due to the weight of the breasts. You can get the same financial help if you make the case that you are humiliated due to the size, such as through getting unwanted attention that makes it hard to enjoy life. If you are otherwise inconvenienced, such as due to the inability to work out without being in pain, you should also seek monetary help from your provider.

If you believe such conditions apply to you, it is advised that you at least apply for assistance by making a claim, or talking to your doctor about your chances of getting money for this purpose. The worst that can happen is that your provider says no, in which case you can figure out other ways to pay, or decide to forego the surgery.
