You have decided that you are tired of dealing with the flat figure you’ve been given. No one likes to think of themselves as a straight line but unfortunately there are a lot of women out there that are just that. You’ve decided to have augmentation surgery performed but there is one lingering question. Which type of breast implant do you choose?

Breast implants come in several different sizes measured in cubic centimeters. This amount will be added to your existing size to give you the desired cup size. Don’t go into your doctor though expecting to talk cup sizes,Breast Implant – Silicone vs. Saline Articles he’s not going to be able to say off the top of his head which cc you’ll need to achieve that cup. But he will be able to help you to determine which size is the best for you.

Once you’ve determined what size breast implant that you want you’ll need to determine what you want it made out of. They come filled with a choice of two different liquids, silicone and saline. Silicone enhancements are a gel filled enhancers that have a smoother and softer feel to them once they are inserted. If you are having this procedure done because of a reconstruction this is often the enhancer of choice because it feels more like a real teat. There is the problem with these if they rupture. Because the silicone can be poisonous to your system if it leaks you will be recommended to have MRIs starting three years after the procedure and then a continuing every two years after that. Should it rupture then you will have to have it removed so that it doesn’t make you sick.

On the other hand there is the saline breast implants. These types of enhancers are safer than their counterparts. Should these bust there is not worry about hurrying to remove it since saline is simply salt water. Unlike the saline filled ones you will know very quickly if these rupture because of the way they deflate. Many people consider them to be like a water balloon that is placed under the skin. Unfortunately they feel like a water balloon under the skin too, and are not nearly as natural feeling. But an added incentive to these types is that they can be adjusted after the surgery. All your doctor has to do is insert a syringe under the skin and either extract some of the saline or add more to it. Silicone comes prefilled and cannot be adjusted in this way.

Breast implants can take you from flat chested to fuller figured but you need to make sure you do your research so that you get the right type for your needs.
