There are two different ways the buttocks can be enhanced. The first method is the most common method and is known as a Brazilian butt lift or fat grafting. The second method to enhance the buttocks is to surgically implant implants similar to breast implants. The implants in the buttocks area however are stronger and more durable than breast implants and should poise little chance of a potential rupture. The implants can be surgically implanted either under the gluteus maximus muscle or on top of it by surgically creating a pocket. The incision is made near a natural butt crease to make scarring minimal. However due to the location of the incision it is harder to keep the affected area clean and there is a high rate of infection with this type of surgery.
