While there are many different approaches in performing a breast augmentation,Can You Get a Breast Augmentation With no Scar? Articles there are none that leave no scar whatsoever. Because of this, the hiding of the incision is one of the most important parts of the process.

But what if there was a breast augmentation available that left no scar around the breasts or chest area? In effect, there would be no scarring that anyone could notice despite the fact that an incision was made and implants were inserted.

How is this possible? Through a transumbilical breast augmentation, which is more commonly known as a TUBA.

A TUBA is like any of the other types of augmentations in that an incision is indeed made, implants are surgically inserted and the wound is closed with sutures or stitches. The different in this type of procedure is that the cut is made at the belly button.

To achieve the desired results through this method, a small, semicircle-like incision is made inside the belly button, it can be effectively hidden. Empty implants are then inserted and moved into place through the use of a long, flexible tube with a camera attached, which is known as an endoscope. After these implants are set in their proper location, they are pumped full of saline solution and enlarged to the desired size while inside the body.

Because the implant must be inserted empty and filled while inside the body, only saline can be used rather than the more typical silicone that is normally used. This can be considered a disadvantage for some patients because silicone is generally considered to have a more natural feel than a saline solution, which can have a liquid-like texture. That being said, the implants can still be filled and shaped to the desired size and texture to produce the same type of results that another method can produce.

Also, because there are no cuts made around the breasts themselves, there is a lesser risk of infection through this method because there is no exposure to areas where staph bacteria can be present. The surgery itself can also be shorter and the recovery less painful due to the less invasive incision made.

Due to the fact that a TUBA is a more complicated approach, there is an added emphasis on finding a skilled and experienced plastic surgeon to perform the surgery. There is a great degree of skill and precision involved, meaning only those doctors who have experience with the approach should be contracted to perform it.

Like with any type of breast augmentation, this approach is right for some patients and not for others. Speaking with a doctor, surgeon or other medical professional can help determine if any individual is a strong candidate for this procedure.
