Cholecystitis Causes Symptoms Information with Treatment

Cholecycstitis is a painful inflammation of the gallbladder, the small, pear-shaped sac under the liver that stores bile. Surgical removal of the gallbladder 2-3 days after cholecystitis for most patients.

Intravenous broad-spectrum antibiotics .

Immediate surgical gallbladder removal if gangrene has occurred .

Pain medications (Demerol usually best).
