Cosmetic Surgery Vs Plastic Surgery

Plastic surgery and cosmetic surgery are both surgical and medical methods which help to change certain body parts from its present condition to a new shape, no matter the change is a restorative procedure or an elective enhancement. Plastic or reconstructive energy- This process is used to correct any abnormality resulting due to an accident, health condition or a birth defect. The different goals

Cosmetic surgery is for enhancing appearance - This process is not used for correcting dysfunctions as in the case of plastic surgery. Rather this process comprises of non-surgical and surgical techniques that are aimed to improve a patient’s physical appearance. A cosmetic surgeon uses surgical methods for improving the aesthetic appeal via contouring or restructuring specific parts of the body to enhance both symmetry and proportions. This procedure can be performed on different parts of the human body right from the neck, head and face to the toes.

Plastic surgery is for repairing defects and restoring function and appearance - This is a surgical or medical speciality which focuses on the reconstruction and repair of abnormalities or defects which affect the body and face of different possible circumstances or conditions such as disease, accidents, trauma, burns and congenital disorders. It involves a reconstructive surgical procedure for correcting any abnormalities which cause dysfunction.

Cosmetic or elective surgery will help in reshaping the normal parts of the body to boost up self esteem and improve appearance. In fact healthy people with realistic expectations and positive outlook are right candidates to undergo cosmetic procedures. On the other hand plastic surgery is indeed a personal choice. This should be taken for oneself and not for fulfilling someone else’s desires and trying in fitting an ideal image.
