Depression can sap your strength, and take away all of your motivation and drive to live your life. The most common types of depression are:

Major Depression, which is characterized by a sad mood, sleep disorders, and a depressed appetite. Some types of depression are hereditary. Living in a stressful environment can lead to depression. A traumatic experience such as a serious loss, financial trouble, or relationship problems can also lead to depression.

Women are twice as likely to suffer from depression as men are, but scientists do not know why.
