If you don't have insurance, you are a very bad gambler and messing around with you life. There's nothing like the feeling of having to go to the hospital for an unexpected problem and then finding out that your financial life is about to go down in flames because you didn't take care of your priorities in the first place.

If you don't have insurance,Don't Ignore Your Insurance Articles you are a very bad gambler and messing around with you life. There's nothing like the feeling of having to go to the hospital for an unexpected problem and then finding out that your financial life is about to go down in flames because you didn't take care of your priorities in the first place. Not having insurance is a life changer because no one knows when disaster will strike and if you don't have insurance you are messing around with not only your family's future but also you own life.

Diseases are all around us and every day it seems that we learn of someone else getting ill or dying. It happens to the rich, it happens to the poor. Illness does not discriminate. Stars get sick and so do nobody's it seems that no one is truly immune.

Now you may think as many do that you will receive adequate health care even if you are living without health insurance and that a doctor or hospital is under obligation to treat you even without health insurance but this very simply is not true. Doctors are under no obligation to treat you without health insurance coverage and private hospitals can deny you any care that is not life sustaining. If you are ill they are required to stabilize you and then they will ship you off to a public hospital.

So you will receive care but what type of care will it be? Unfortunately you will most likely receive mediocre care at best and if you are sick enough, chances are good that you won't even be given any form of treatment for your illness. Since it is more than likely that you will arrive at the hospital in pretty bad condition they will do things like stabilize you and provide you perhaps with some pain relieving medication, but realize they don't want to waste their resources on you especially if your prognosis is not good.

The Hippocratic Oath used to contain statements like do no harm and to treat those regardless of the ability to pay but these things don't count if you don't have health insurance coverage. While you may think that not having health insurance is a minor bump in the road it could bring you to an untimely end and therefore health insurance is not something that you can afford to live without. Living without health insurance can truly mean life or death for you or someone that you love.
