          Plasticos Foundation is a global non-profit organization that works on helping poor people particularly the children from deprived communities who have birth defects,Dr. Horowitz and Company – Plasticos’ Foundations Articles congenital malformations and traumatic disfigurements. The main goal of this organization is to improve the lives of others through plastic surgery. But without the people behind Plasticos Foundation, this organization cannot render its philanthropic services.

          Now meet the Plasticos’ foundations.

Larry Nichter, MD, MS, FACS, FAAP  

          Larry Nichter is the President and Founder of Plasticos Foundation. He started performing reconstructive surgery in 1987. Aside from this, he is also conducting trainings for surgeons where he shares his skills and all the things he knows about their field of specialization. Dr. Nichter has already worked with other humanitarian organizations and undertaken more than 30 missions to countries like Brazil, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Honduras, Mexico, Micronesia, Palau, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam.

          Dr. Nichter has been a plastic and reconstructive surgeon for almost two decades and he has also received several national and international recognitions for his surgical skills and for his dedication to his work.

Jed Horowitz, MD, FACS

          Jed Horowitz is the Vice President of the said organization. He began his plastic surgery career at the University of Virginia where he performed several complex reconstructive surgeries for children. He became member of numerous medical societies and organizations like the American College of Surgeons and American Board of Plastic Surgery. His skills as a plastic surgeon have been also recognized in different publications such as “Guide to Top Doctors” and “Who’s Who in the West”. Aside from being a dedicated plastic surgeon, Dr. Horowitz is also a writer and he already published several articles with regards to his field – plastic surgery.

          Just recently, Dr. Horowitz became involved in the strategic development of Plasticos Foundation.

Mary McGarry, MS

          Mary McGarry is the Director of Marketing and Funding of Plasticos Foundation. She works to pursue funding the overseas trips taken by the medical teams of Plasticos. Mary’s primary responsibilities for the foundation are to locate critical resources, cultivate relationships and secure commitments from donors.

Ruthann Burns, BA

          Ruthann Burns is the Administrator for Plasticos Foundation. She facilitates travel arrangements, visa applications, and appropriate immunizations for traveling team members. Burns together with his husband have visited many developing countries to evaluate the needs and medical facilities for future visits.

Bob Burns, PhD, MD, FACS

          Bob Burns, husband of Ruthann Burns, is the Treasurer of Plasticos. He is responsible for handling the donations coming from hospitals, manufacturers of medical instruments, and ordinary donors.
