Eyelid surgery can make a huge difference in your facial appearance. It may seem like the work is only being done on a small area, but the results will definitely cause you to take a second look at yourself in the mirror.

Your family,Eyelid Surgery Makeup Tips Articles friends, and coworkers are also going to notice the difference in not only the way you look, but the way that you present yourself. When you feel confident it will show. Makeup is one of the tools that you can use after the procedure to really make your eyes stand out.

As You Recover

During the first couple of days after eyelid surgery you want to hold off on any type of makeup. It might be tempting to just add a little something extra to make the area look better because of the swelling and bruising. But instead of trying to cover these things up, just be patient. Remember that you will have plenty of time to experiment with different color palettes, products, and brands when the healing process is complete.

Doctor's Approval

A short while after the eyelid surgery you will go back into the surgeon for a post-operation check up. He will want to see how you are feeling as well as how the area is healing. At the appointment you will find out whether or not you have the okay to begin wearing makeup again. If he asks you to hold off for a few more days remember that this is what is best for you and your body, so hang in there. At this point you are going to have the opportunity to recreate your normal makeup routine.

Experimenting

Instead of just going with the same makeup that you always use, it is time to try out something new. Head over to a department store and ask an associate to help you with color selections that will compliment your complexion and skin. Try a few things out (gently) and see how you like them. Splurge and pick up a few items to take home. Just like any other cosmetic procedure you need to take time to adjust to your new look. If you have ever wanted to “reinvent” the way you wear makeup, this is your opportunity.

Your eyes are going to look larger giving you the appearance of being more alert and awake. Best of all you are going to look younger. Take advantage of the changes provided by the eyelid surgery and add a few extra layers of mascara before walking out the door. Don't just be content with the eye shadow that you have been wearing for years. Anything that you try and don't like you can easily get rid of with makeup remover. Don't wait until a big night out or the morning before you first day back to work to try these things out. Spend time looking in the mirror and deciding what you like and don't like.

If at any time you try a product that is causing pain and discomfort in or around your eyes, stop using it immediately. You don't want to risk any type of problems that would cause a complication after your eyelid surgery. There are plenty of other products for you to try, so don't be discouraged. Pick up a new brand or even a completely new product and try it on for size.
