Good sources of carbohydrates are the more complex ones like whole grains and potatoes. As much as you could, minimize taking in simple carbs from refined foods such as white bread, pastries, cakes and other baked goodies which are high in sugar and flour.

3. Keep a regular balance of fats.

Having a fat enriched diet will endanger your heart and other internal organs. However, the body still needs "good fat" that helps in energy production. Good cholesterol may be obtained from lean meat and omega fatty acid rich foods such as salmon, tuna, and herring. Nuts are also good sources of fat, as well as protein.

4. Eat less processed foods, especially junk foods.

Instead, include in your diet naturally healthy foods such as fruits and vegetables, that also provide the vitamins and minerals needed for healthy hair growth.

5. Stay away from fad diets, especially the ones which require starving yourself.

When you go on fad diets that advice you to eat just one food group (example, just proteins or just carbohydrates), or one that requires you to just have one meal a day, you are putting your body at a great health risk. You most probably will miss the daily essential nutrients that the body needs for proper metabolism. Depriving yourself of a nutritious meal will also mean not getting the minerals that you need for healthy hair growth.
