Daily, there are hundreds or even thousands of people deciding to go on some or the other fancy food plan to ensure good health and a perfect body to boast of. In fact, the most popular New Year resolution people take up is that of going on a diet and attaining perfection as far as health and fitness are concerned. However, very few actually stick to this resolution as most of them forget about it in that month itself and make peace with the hordes of unhealthy stuff around them which they cannot seem to resist.

There are numerous kinds of evergreen and popular food plans such as the Dukan, the Atkins, the fruitarian, macrobiotic and raw food ones. One such food plan which has been devised quite a long time ago but hasn’t enjoyed as much worldwide popularity like these ones mentioned above, is the blood type diet. The blood type diet is a nutritional one created and propagated commercially by Peter D’Adamo who wrote extensively about it in his book, Eat Right 4 Your Type. The food plan compartmentalizes all the people in the world as per 4 major groups and recommends them to eat stuff that suits the blood running through their arteries and veins. So if you are an A, B, AB or O group person, your food intake will be different from the other groups. Peter D’Adamo says that if you eat right as per the requirements of your group and body, then you will be able to follow a clear, logical, scientifically researched plan based on your cellular profile. The theory of this diet is based on the ABO classification system of Karl Landsteiner and Jan Janský, as well as some of the many other tissue surface antigens and classification systems, especially the Lewis antigen system for ABH secretor status.Blood type eat habits are said to be beneficial for curing and strengthening the body from within. Every food group of each category’s food plan is divided into 3 parts; Highly beneficial, which are foods that acts like medicine for the body; Foods allowed, which are foods that are no harm to the blood type and Foods not allowed, that are foods that are as dangerous as poison.Blood type eat patterns mostly dictate foods that are low on lectins for the said group. For example, if you are of group AB, then you will be recommended to consume lots of tofu, different kinds of vegetables and varied varieties of fish. They would need to avoid foods such as corn, buckwheat, tomatoes, processed foods contain refined sugars, red meat, kidney and lima beans, seeds and wheat so as to ensure weight loss and stay lean and energetic. This food plan aims to make the body completely free of lectins, elements which trigger harmful reactions in the body. While 95% of the lectins that enter the body through various protein laden foods are sloughed off by the body, the remaining five percent are filtered into the body to reach different organs and often trigger undesired chemical reactions.
