A hand surgeon may tell you to refrain from certain activities that are causing the pain. Sometimes this is all that is required to undo the problem. Other times, exercises are used strengthen the muscles and tissues. When doing physical therapy one may also re-learn how to do the activity differently so as to avoid damaging the nerve.

Hand Surgeons can perform hand surgery in both adults and children. Since hand surgeons have devoted their practice to this complex and interconnected area of the body, they are experts at how the hand works. So, it would only make sense that they are able to treat all ages.
