There appears to be many avenues that promise stress help, ranging from self help books, Cd's and DVDs to the self appointed gurus that say they can show you a calmer path to walk on. The only problem with all this is that you will do some serious work to make all these so called answers appear. One very promising piece of advice from the self help arena is to learn to appreciate every thing, every day.

A major contributor to stress is not liking the a situation is turning into or the results you are seeing. Job circumstances are also stress initiators. Not enough pay, not enough off time, but being helplessly stuck to repeat the same routine day after day. Weight gain is emotionally distressing and brings on stress. Simple things like no help with household chores can cause stress, especially from a spouse of kids and other members of the household.

All of these things are annoying and irritating and will become more of an issue the more that you focus on it. On the other hand if you decide to think positive and take a positive approach then these things will not be so overwhelming. If you can simply remember to appreciate what you have then you become less stressed and more positive immediately. It doesn't mean that anything actually changes, they just become less of a focus.

For some people, stress will render them unable to do anything and allow the stress to overwhelm them into accepting this as their fate and never realizing they can get control of the situation. For those who often feel this way, they should consider seeking professional medical help to rule out a chemical imbalance. A doctor will guide you through the process and determine if medication will get you back on track and back to your ole self that every one misses.
