Chemicals are a part of our everyday lives. From the foods we eat to the air we breathe there are chemicals that are affecting our bodies on a regular basis. When you think of chemicals your thoughts are probably immediately drawn to the negative effects of cigarette smoke on the body and while those who are subjected to second hand smoke have little say in the effects of these chemicals on their bodies those who choose to smoke are a whole different story. Cigarettes are only one form of chemical distribution throughout the American population, but diet and food consumption is for the most part, one of the most destructive forms of chemical poisoning in the U.S.. Sugars and salts as well as other sweeteners and unnaturally produced chemicals are showing up in the forms of dangerous diseases like heart problems, high blood pressure and diabetes.

All these consumed chemicals have an adverse affect on our bodies, and when caffeine, perhaps one of the biggest chemicals found in the standard American diet is added to the mix, the results can be both more dangerous and deadly. Decaffeinated beverages very often fall prey to the extra kick that many people need to keep pace with the hectic lifestyle they feel they have to keep up with and caffeine is also a known appetite suppressant as well. Caffeinated drinks now include sodas, teas, coffees and is blazing new trails into energy and alcoholic drinks. Not only is caffeine a major contributor to heart disease and blood pressure issues but to many sleep disorders.

Making wise choices as to what you put into your mouth is a good way to have a positive impact on your overall health. Choosing to eat well and to ingest only those things that are better for your body and limiting the number of toxins that you come in contact with each day is the best way to make the most out of life.
