You need to be eating a high fibre diet, you can do this by eating more raw fruit and vegetables to help eliminate and prevent constipation. If you don’t get constipation you will reduce your chances of getting hemorrhoids. Your fibre intake every day should be 25-35 grams every day. The majority of people only eat 8-12 grams per day.

If you have not had a high fibre daily intake you need to start to add extra fibre to your diet slowly, especially if your are adding it using bran. Bran or bran cereals should be added over a couple of weeks.

These berries contain anthocyanins and proanthocyanidins that will help reduce the hemorrhoid pain and swelling by strengthening and toning the hemorrhoid veins. It is recommended that you drink at the least one glass every day.

Red and Black currant berries – The juices from these berries are valuable in clearing hemorrhoids. These berries are high in Vitamin C, rutin, minerals and contain a fatty acid which produces prostaglandin that controls body pain. It is also good for cleansing the blood and the liver. It is recommended that you drink 1-2 glasses a day.

Pomegranate juice – Due to its strong astringency pomegranate juice is useful in reducing hemorrhoids. The best way to apply it is to saturate a cotton ball with juice and push it slightly into your rectum. The tannins in the pomegranate juice will also help to get rid of pinworms if you suffer from them. You can also drink the juice but it is very tarty and hard to drink more than 1 glass without causing a stomach upset.


There are foods that you should avoid one of these is chilli peppers. It is a well known fact that when you eat a lot of chilli peppers they will create a burning sensation in the rectum or anus. This will be painful if you have an advanced case of hemorrhoids.
