After you’ve done all this and have really made the ultimate decision of becoming a physician assistant, what you need to do next is find a good college or online program that has a physician assistant program that is already accredited. Almost all physician assistant programs last for 2 to 3 years with the first year focusing on coursework and the remaining year dealing with actual hands on clinical work. What’s more important is to find out all the different kinds of training that is needed in your country to be a physician assistant.

All the different colleges and online programs are going to have different requirements and prerequisites for admission into their PA programs so you definitely need to know about what you need to get entry. In the United States, all most all the physician assistant programs are going to require that applicants already have their bachelor degree in a science or medical related subject like a bachelors in biochemistry, biology or human anatomy.

Other than that you need to have some experience working in the health care industry, you need to have a clean criminal background and you need to be at least 21 years of age before you apply to the PA program of your choice.
