Mehndi is used for taking care of hair since the ancient time. Now days, the use of Mehndi for hair conditioning is getting popularity in various parts of the world. The scientific name of the Mehndi is “Lawsonia Inermis”. The leaves of this plant are used for making Mehndi powder and a paste is made from this powder. This paste is used to be used on the skin or for hair conditioning. Mehndi not only provides good conditioning for our hair but it also stains our hair naturally. People color their hairs for various reasons and they use various hair colors for that. These colors have chemicals which can cause damage to our hair so Mehndi is the best component for the hair coloring.

The use of Mehndi for hair conditioning is quite common but there are many other benefits of Mehndi such as-

Mehndi alone is a very good hair conditioner but people do mix some other natural ingredients to get better results. You can mix lemon, curd or egg to the Mehndi paste to condition the hair better. It is advised to make the paste and keep it for 2-3 hours before applying it on the hair. If you want to use Mehndi for hair conditioning only then you keep the paste on the hair only for 30 minutes and then wash it off and shampoo the hair. If Mehndi is to be used for coloring the hair then keep the Mehndi paste for one hour and then wash off. Before applying henna, divide your hair into various portions so that application can be done evenly. While washing off the hair, it is preferable to use the warm flowing water. One should use mehndi for conditioning the hair at least twice a month. There is no other component so advantageous than Mehndi to condition and color the hairs naturally.
