Know the Ingredients of Your Facial Cleanser and What They Do

There are literally thousands of choices when it comes to facial cleanser. Each one claims to do a certain thing depending on skin type and age. The most important thing to remember when looking over the ingredients label on a facial cleanser is this; stay away from harsh chemicals, and synthetic chemicals. The label may not use the word chemical, but synthetic means man made not natural or organic. Consider the following as examples:

A.Mineral oils: A facial cleanser which uses mineral oil as a main ingredient is going to clog your pores, and stop the natural elimination of toxins; which leads to acne. Look for facial cleanser labels that say non-occlusive, which means they deep clean the skin, and moisturize without leaving behind coatings that clog pores.

B.Alcohol: Is a drying agent found in a facial cleanser that is being promoted for use by people who suffer from oily skin conditions. While it can help to clear up this condition, it can and does cause drying of the skin to such a degree that peeling, flaking, and angry looking red patches can occur.

C.Fragrances / Preservatives: Fragrances belong in perfumes and candles, not in a facial cleanser; and preservatives belong in hot dogs. When applying a product that is heavily laced with fragrances and preservatives you are applying harsh chemicals to the skin. Your skin does not preserving or perfuming, it needs a gentle cleaning from a facial cleanser.

Look for a facial cleanser that is comprised of natural ingredients. These will work to heal the skin at the cellular level and promote healthy new skin cell growth; which is what you want when you using skin care products, such as night creams, moisturizers', cleansing mask, and a facial cleanser.
