How To Prevent Pimples - Tips For Clear Skin

Even though pimples are caused by hormones, there are still some simple things that we can do to prevent them. It all starts with proper skin care and not doing things to inflame our acne. Whatever you do, don't squeeze!

A huge industry thrives today because everyone is desperate to prevent pimples. But how are you going to prevent pimples - the problem is hormonal and probably hereditary. We can't trade in our mothers and fathers and ask for parents with better genes! You see, blackheads and whiteheads which can turn into pimples are caused by androgen hormones. Use lukewarm water and a very mild soap or non-soap cleanser such as Cetaphil. Wet the soap and use two fingers to apply it in a circular motion to our face. Gently. Rinse off with lukewarm water and pat your skin dry with a soft cotton towel. That's it! You don't need any special acne miracle cleaning products to take care of your skin properly. Most are a waste of money. If you need a moisturizer because you have dry skin, choose one that is non-comedogenic.

If you have mild acne, you can use a 2.5% benzoyl peroxide gel on your acne prone skin. Don't use any stronger as stronger formulations will only irritate your skin. You don't need a prescription or prescription strength. Over the counter 2.5% is fine. What about using a face-wash with benzoyl peroxide? Don't waste your money.

Stop smoking. Everyone always says that but if you want to prevent pimples, it's a good idea. Smoking constricts the capillaries in the skin, making it less healthy and therefore prone to infection.

Keep track of what you eat. Some foods might trigger your acne. Milk is often a culprit. If a food seems to trigger your acne, cut it out of your diet.

Reduce stress. Breathe. Relax. Stress causes those pesky androgen hormones that cause acne in the first place. Chill out for your skin's sake.
